Sethuram’s Sruthilaya Academy has a rich history of hosting and participating in significant cultural events. From 2005 to 2008, we organized the highly successful Ilanthamizh Isai Amiztham event in Singapore. From 2009 to 2013 we organized Music Festival Annually showcasing traditional Indian music and dance. Additionally, we have been involved in numerous community events, including Singapore National Arts Council Programs, Arts Education Programs, and Library Events, where our academy’s students and teachers brought the beauty of Indian classical arts to a wider audience.

Our students have had the honor of performing in prestigious events such as the Chingay Parade and have won awards for their remarkable performances. In addition to these events, our academy has staged grand productions like the Poiya Kaviyam and Vishnu Vaibhavam dance dramas, which were choreographed and directed by Sethuram and his team of dance teachers. The celebrated artist Mohan Vaidhya has also joined our celebrations and has served as an external examiner for our academy’s exams, further solidifying the excellence of our institution. The Singapore Transport Minister Mr. Le Tuck Yew and the Speaker of Parliament Mr. Abdullah Tarmugi have also honored our Annual Music Festival as Chief Guests, further endorsing the academy’s commitment to promoting classical arts. Mrs. Vaasugi Sethuram, the heart and soul of our academy, serves as the organizer and coordinator for all our events, ensuring that every performance and celebration runs smoothly. Her dedication and vision for promoting Indian classical arts have been instrumental in the success of each event. At Sethuram’s Sruthilaya, we are proud to continue this tradition of promoting Indian classical arts while engaging with global audiences through both in-person and online.

An annual Carnatic classical music festival held across multiple states in Malaysia, including Johor Bahru, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Penang, Perak, and Kedah. Honored with the esteemed Kadarm Konda Award by Sangeetha Samaj Fine Arts Malaysia for outstanding contributions to the promotion of Carnatic music throughout Malaysia
In 2015, we made history by featuring 310 students in an Indian singing concert, performing continuously for 1 hour and 30 minutes on a single stage, earning a place in the Malaysian Book of Records.
In 2016, we collaborated with the Ministry of Education Malaysia to commemorate 200 years of the Tamil language in Malaysian Tamil schools. This historic event took place in front of the iconic Lord Muruga statue at Batu Caves, where students showcased their talents in a grand performance.
The 2017 MYIND Star event was a prestigious competition inspired by world-class shows like Super Singer, attracting thousands of participants. Master Sethuram, alongside other dedicated mentors, guided aspiring talents in the realm of light music.
Achieved a remarkable Asia Book of Records and World Record for hosting the largest multi-lingual singalong event, where students sang an environmental awareness song composed by Master Sethuram in four languages – English, Tamil, Chinese, and Malay. A multi-cultural participation of 31,958 students planted over 30,000 trees across Malaysia, reinforcing a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.
A mesmerizing performance by 80 Sruthilaya students, presenting a Tamil movie song mashup dedicated to the historic lunar landing of Chandrayaan-3 by India. Recognized by the prestigious Imperial Book of World Records.
